The Major scale

The Major scale is often refered to as the Ionian mode.

The following examples outline the major scale and its use applied to a walking bass line over a jazz standard chord progression.

The example of the major scale is in the key of F and is followed by a classic jazz jam session chord progression.

The examples are taken from "  Standard Lines Book III in the Constructing Walking Jazz Bass Lines " series
